Redfish Instruments’ Announces Sponsorships in Support of Local Non-Profits

Redfish Instruments, Inc., a provider of iPhone and iPad-enabled electronic test and measurement instruments, announced that it has made financial contributions to the Santa Cruz Education Foundation as a sponsor of the EDDY Awards, to Tech Raising as a Silver Sponsor, and to the Santa Cruz ThickSkin Mountain Bike Duathlon as a sponsor. “Redfish Instruments is proud to demonstrate its commitment to the community and public education in Santa Cruz through grants to these vital local nonprofits,” said Patrick O’Hara, President and CEO of Redfish Instruments.

The Santa Cruz Education Foundation is an all-volunteer organization that promotes excellence in Santa Cruz City Schools by developing and enhancing programs to help all students realize their full potential. The Santa Cruz Education Foundation’s Eddy Awards was presented at the Kuumbwa Jazz Center. The Eddy Awards provide an opportunity for the community to recognize the outstanding commitment made daily by the dedicated educators, staff and volunteers of Santa Cruz City Schools.

TechRaising, founded in 2011, holds events to provide the space and support for individuals to gather, collaborate, build, promote, and gain momentum for their tech ideas. At TechRaising 2012 on April 20, participants pitched their idea for a product, service, or company to the group, and then built something to demo at the end of that weekend.

The Santa Cruz ThickSkin Mountain Bike Duathlon will take place on June 2 as part of the Pachyonychia Congenita (PC) Awareness Day. According to Roger Kaspar, Ph.D., the organizer of the event, “PC is an extremely rare inherited skin disorder. Those suffering from it have extremely thick and disfigured nails but the biggest patient complaint are excruciatingly painful blisters that occur at or near the pressure points of their feet that severely limits their mobility.” Through events like this, around the world, the PC Project hopes to raise $100K on PC Awareness Day.
