Using Oscilloscope's Math to Measure Indirect Parameters

An oscilloscope is much more than just displaying time-domain voltage waveforms, even more so today. Today's technology and software have enabled oscilloscopes to perform more functions than ever before. Although not new, one of the more common function which is the math function, is often under utilised. I just read an interesting paper written by Dwight Larson of Maxim Integrated Products addressing this issue. He explains how we can use math function in the oscilloscope to measure parameters like power dissipation and load capacitance.

If you are interested to expand the capabilities of your oscilloscope to reveal new dimensions of measurements, download Dwight Larson's paper entitled "Oscilloscope Math Functions Aid Circuit Analysis" from Test & Measurement World website.
