Tektronix, Fluke Scholarship Program at DeVry University Awards 20 Students

Tektronix, Inc. and Fluke Corporation announced that 20 DeVry University students have each received $1,000 scholarships in the name of the two companies. The 2011 awards are the first under a $100,000 donation by Tektronix and Fluke for a five-year scholarship program to the DeVry University Education Fund to help create opportunities for engineering students.

The 20 scholarship recipients were selected from more than 125 applicants and come from across the U.S., including Colorado, Washington, Florida and Georgia. Selected by DeVry University, the students are sophomores or juniors, studying in the electronics & computer technology or electronics engineering technology programs, hold at least a 3.0 GPA and submitted an essay answering the question “How do you believe your degree will help you succeed and meet your career goals?”

“On behalf of the scholarship recipients and DeVry University, I want to extend our deep gratitude for the generous donation to the DeVry University Education Fund. It is directly helping our students realize their dream of earning a college degree and help them work toward a career in engineering,” said David J. Pauldine, president of DeVry University.

“Each of these students is well-deserving of their scholarship, we are pleased to contribute in this way to their future success,” said Amir Aghdaei, president of Tektronix.  “Both Tektronix and Fluke share a common passion of supporting the next generation of engineers together with postsecondary education institutions like DeVry University.”

“Our scholarship program demonstrates Tektronix and Fluke’s commitment to prepare students for the real world,” said Barbara Hulit, president of Fluke Corporation. “By offering scholarships through DeVry University, we are also helping to ensure that the next generation of engineers is set up for career success while they are still in school.”
