R&S®FSV-K54 EMI measurement application for diagnostic testing



The new R&S®FSV-K54 EMI measurement application extends the application range of the R&S®FSV signal and spectrum analyzer family and the R&S®FSVR real-time spectrum analyzer family.

The R&S®FSV-K54 option enables customers to easily upgrade their R&S®FSV signal and spectrum analyzers and R&S®FSVR real-time spectrum analyzers for EMI testing. The option provides EMI (6 dB) bandwidths, as well as detectors such as peak, quasi-peak, CISPR-average and RMS-average. It also offers limit lines and correction factors of transducers used for diagnostic and precompliance testing. The R&S®FSVR real-time spectrum analyzer and the R&S®FSV signal and spectrum analyzer fitted with R&S®FSV-K54 are in accordance with the CISPR 16-1-1 (Ed.3) standard for performing diagnostic EMI measurements. Customers can benefit from the speed and sensitivity of the signal and spectrum analyzers. In particular the realtime mode of the R&S®FSVR will be of interest, because intermittent interferers or frequency drifting signals can be detected easily within a bandwidth of 40 MHz without time gaps.

EMI precompliance measurements are important during product development. Their basic purpose is to measure the conducted and radiated emissions performance of a product as early as possible to identify problems. The goal is to have the products pass testing at a fully accredited compliance test facility with a minimum of additional changes and get them to market on time and within budget limits. This is of fundamental interest for customers from the communications, electronics and IT industry, the automotive industry as well as service labs, test labs and universities.
