Oscilloscopes redefined by Agilent [UPDATED]

Agilent has recently launched an interesting campaign called "Oscilloscopes Redefined". The banner above shows a sneak preview of a pretty cool looking oscilloscope. They claim that once you see this new oscilloscope series, your only question would be, "What should I do with my old oscilloscope?"

Clicking on the banner link above it will bring you to a page with a video teaser which hints to some kind of touch screen interface for the new oscilloscope. It makes perfect sense for an oscilloscope to have touch screen as this will maximize the screen real estate which is good for signal viewing. Perhaps they are taking a cue from iPhone/iPad?

The public announcement will be made on February 15, 2011.

You can also check out the Agilent Technologies Oscilloscope facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/agilent.scopes

14 January UPDATE: Unofficial source has it that there may not be a touch screen interface for this new oscilloscope. Instead, it will come feature packed with functionalities (hardware and software) that has never before been available in economy oscilloscopes and may even exceed some of the mid-range oscilloscopes. Sounds like it may be a game changer. Stay tuned and stay excited!
